Bianchi steel processsing factory is destroyed by aerial bombing.

1946
Construction is completed on a new facility.

1947
Fausto Coppi is Pursuit World Champion and winner of the Giro d’Italia.

1949
Coppi wins his first Tour de France, despite a punishing fall in the race’s Saint Malo stage. He again wins the Giro d’Italia, disproving the physiologists who claimed the feat to be impossible. And he becomes Pursuit World Champion.
